Chief MCP server
Chief, inside your AI assistant.
Ask what is waiting on you, catch up on what shipped and file the next milestone from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex or Claude Code.
Chief has a remote MCP server, so the assistant you already work in can talk to Chief directly. Sign in with your Chief account, pick the projects the assistant may see, and ask in plain language.
Every change an assistant makes is labelled with its name in Chief, and you can revoke its access at any time from Settings → Connected apps.
Set it up
You need a Chief account. Each assistant opens the Chief sign-in, where you pick the projects it can see.
Server URL
https://mcp.chiefisnext.com/mcpClaude (web, desktop and mobile)
In Claude’s connector settings, choose Add custom connector, paste the server URL and connect. Sign in to Chief and pick your projects. Connectors you add on claude.ai also work in the Claude mobile apps.
Codex
Add the server, then sign in. codex mcp login opens the Chief sign-in in your browser.
codex mcp add chief --url https://mcp.chiefisnext.com/mcp && codex mcp login chiefClaude Code
Add the server, then run /mcp in Claude Code and choose Authenticate.
claude mcp add --transport http chief https://mcp.chiefisnext.com/mcpWhat your assistant can do
Ask in plain language; the assistant picks the right tool.

Security and permissions
You decide what each assistant can see, and you can take it back at any time.
- You sign in with your Chief account and choose which projects the assistant can see. Projects you did not pick stay invisible to it.
- A new connection can read and propose, but it can’t approve or start work, change billing or settings, or show your code.
- Changes are labelled with the assistant’s name, like “Claude Code (MCP)”, in Chief’s activity feed.
- Relay pairing codes work once and expire after 10 minutes.
- Each connection is rate limited, and a reused refresh token revokes the connection.
- See and revoke every connected assistant in Settings → Connected apps. Revoking takes effect on the assistant’s next request.

FAQ
Which assistants work with Chief?
Any assistant that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in. This page has setup steps for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex and Claude Code.
Can an assistant see all of my projects?
No. When you connect, you pick the projects the assistant can see, and it can only read and change those.
Can an assistant run work on my code?
A new connection can propose milestones and manage to-dos. Proposals wait for your approval in Chief, and work runs through the Chief relay on your own computer.
How do I disconnect an assistant?
Open Settings → Connected apps in Chief and revoke it. The assistant loses access on its next request.
Ready to manage your agents?
Free plan, no credit card required. Connect your assistant once you have a Chief account.
